The Luminex Central Repair Facility (L.C.R.F.) has compiled this list of guidelines to help our customers return parts or instruments for repair.
At this time, the following items are accepted by the L.C.R.F. for repair: Luminex 100/200, XY Platform, Sheath Delivery system (SD), and optical platform. *Please do not send any valves, lasers, circuit boards, syringe pumps, sensors, compressors, PMT’s, or items that are considered non-repairable. For all items it is not necessary to send any cables, which are not permanently attached.

Luminex 100/200: Due to the sensitivity of the unit, please return unit in original box and crate. If the unit is not returned in original crate and box, an additional charge for the crate and/or box will automatically be added to the bill. Note: Please decontaminate the unit per the instructions in the users’ manual, and include a copy of the completed documentation with the instrument. If the completed documentation is not included with the instrument, it will be considered “Contaminated” and an additional fee will automatically be added to the bill. “Decontamination”, done either by the customer or the LCRF, is required prior to the unit being evaluated.
XY Platform: Due to the calibration and alignment of the plate holder, please return platform in original shipping box and include the shipping plug (secures the plate holder during transit). If unit is not returned in original shipping box w/shipping plug, an additional charge for the box and/or plug will automatically be added to the bill.
Sheath Delivery (SD): When returning SD, please drain unit and return in original shipping box. If unit is not returned in the original shipping box, an additional charge for the box will automatically be added to the bill.

Optical Platform: Due to the sensitive alignment of the optics, all platforms will be returned to the customer in a specially designed shipping box. These shipping boxes can be used until they are no longer suitable to make the journey. If a shipping box is not available or the platform is not returned in one, an additional charge will automatically be added to the bill. *Please leave the short length of tubing coming from the top of the cuvette to the T-connection, on the platform. Also, for alignment purposes, please leave the green laser attached to the platform (For Coherent Lasers, it is not necessary to include the controller box, but it is preferred. For Uniphase Lasers, the controller cannot be separated from the laser head, it is a matched set). Do not send the bracket, for either laser, which supports the controller box. It is not needed and will not fit in the shipping box, so it will have to be shipped back separately for an additional cost. Additionally, flushing the cuvette with DI water and then draining it will help to reduce clogs and repair time once it is reattached to the system. Note: Please decontaminate the platform by flushing it with 10% bleach solution prior to flushing with DI water. Include a copy of the completed documentation from the users’ manual with the instrument. If the completed documentation is not included with the platform, it will be considered “Contaminated” and an additional fee will automatically be added to the bill. “Decontamination”, done either by the customer or the LCRF, is required prior to the unit being evaluated.
