Associate Partner Manager, Diagnostics and Life Sciences

Position based in Austin

The Partner Manager will be the central hub of information and contact for the partners. This role job will facilitate introductions and information sharing between the various functional groups within the respective organizations.

Responsibilities:

Partner Communication

  • Facilitate introductions and information sharing between the various functional groups within the respective organizations.
  • Ensure all partner communication is duplicated with the teams from Luminex BV to ensure synergy between operations in the US and Europe.
    This will also ensure the Luminex US is kept updated with partner activities in Europe.
  • Establish a 12 month partner meeting calendar and maintain on a rolling basis to include regular summits with partners and key departments at Luminex to enable information sharing – to include sales, marketing, R&D, tech ops, operations, finance and others as needed.
  • Other meetings may include forecast meetings, royalty audits, partner sales meetings, distributor meetings and others as the need arises.
  • Other communication mechanisms will be used to share information both internally and with partners. Roundtables, the quarterly newsletter, xSAMPLES, Planet xMAP, Trade Shows and staff meetings are some examples of good communication vehicles.

Contract Administration

  • Main point of contact for amendments to current agreements.
  • Work closely with Business Development (BD) to draft documentation, communicate amendments, price changes and other partner related items
  • Hold partners accountable for meeting their contractual commitments.
  • Identify repeating contact administration items (i.e. forecasts, pricing updates) and set up processes to complete those tasks.

Pre-commercial Partner Activity

  • Will be an integral part of assisting Luminex BV in identifying potential distribution channels in Europe and Luminex US for Rest of World.
  • Will develop agenda’s for meetings, communicate internally about the goals and importance of the meeting, organizing prep meetings, coordinating dates, travel and meeting logistics, collating follow up action items and holding people accountable.
  • Work with the commercial groups within Luminex (Sales, Marketing and Technical Operations) to develop relationships with all of the new points of contact within the new partner. This is important to help them understand the value of working with Luminex and convince them to allocate a disproportionate amount of resources to xMAP based products.

Commercial Partner Activity 

  • Develop and keep updated a partner profile template. This would include all the key contacts from the functional areas. Contractual obligations, pricing for instruments and beads and run rates for consumables, royalties and instruments would also be included.
  • Collect accurate forecast information from partners.
  • With Sales and Marketing assistance, develop a consolidated, 12 month rolling forecast based on partner input and historical run rates.
  • Communicate the forecast to operations and executive management including Luminex BV on a monthly basis at minimum.
  • Measure the accuracy of forecasts and developing methods to improve accuracy over time.
  • Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Marcomm, Manufacturing, Shipping and Order Entry to ensure a smooth launch of our partner products.
  • Work with the partner purchasing organization to ensure they understand how they place orders, manage backlogs, leads times and our expedited shipping fee policy.
  • With input from Sales and Marketing develop incentive programs to motivate the partners to produce timely and accurate forecasts.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) from four-year college or university, or relevant work experience.
  • 1-2 years of previous sales experience with proven history of meeting and exceeding quotas.
