Quality Control Technician-  Luminex Molecular Diagnostics (Toronto)

Position based in Toronto

JOB SUMMARY:

The position of QC Technician will involve QC inspection/testing of raw and in-process materials.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Inspecting and testing raw materials and in-process products.
  • Preparation of genomic and synthetic control samples for use in the lab.
  • Accurate record-keeping of tests/inspections performed.
  • All work must be performed within specific deadlines, under cGMP and in accordance with corporate and method procedures.
  • Assisting with laboratory equipment verification/maintenance.
  • Administrative duties: performing transactions and transfers in Oracle Software, filing records, ordering supplies and chemicals and organizing their storage areas.
  • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE & TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Knowledge of nucleic acid molecular techniques and enzyme reactions.
  • Comfortable performing laboratory inspections using equipment such as micropipettes
  • Clear understanding of cGMP.
  • Concept of quality management system (SOPs, reports).
  • Strong computer & writing skills.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • B.Sc. or Diploma with 2 - 3 years of experience.
  • QC & related certification(s) is an asset.
