Assay Field Support Specialist

The position of Assay Field Support Specialist will involve all aspects of field support for Luminex and Luminex Molecular Diagnostics assays, including demonstration, training and on-site troubleshooting. The AFSS will also be required to provide a high level of support for Luminex instrumentation. This individual will be required to deliver technical presentations and interact with customers in a clinical diagnostic environment.
Responsibilities:
- Train customers on the use of Luminex and Luminex Molecular Diagnostics assays
- On-site troubleshooting of assay & basic instrumentation issues for efficient resolution of customer complaints
- Perform customer-specific experiments as part of troubleshooting efforts
- Provide phone and email contact with customers where appropriate
- Interact effectively with various departments within the Luminex organization to ensure efficient communication and resolution of customer complaints and inquiries, including (but not limited to) Technical Support, Product Development/Research, and Sales/Marketing
- Documentation of activities and troubleshooting progress in the Oracle database
- Documentation for quality assurance purposes
Skills and Experience:

University degree (BSc), preferably in Molecular Biology or a related discipline (or equivalent work experience)

Clinical laboratory experience a definite asset

Experience with Luminex instrumentation an asset

Experience with Oracle an asset

Practical experience with molecular biology and enzyme reactions

Clear understanding of essential concepts of molecular and protein assays and GLP
-
Compliance to ISO 13485:2003, 21 CFR 820

Proven technical skills
