Since September 11, 2001, rapid detection of bio-warfare pathogens has become of paramount importance worldwide.  Luminex is focused on developing reliable testing for key bio-threat agents (BTA).  Because there are many known BTA’s, - including anthrax (Bacillus anthracis), plague (Yersinia pestis), tularemia (Francisella tularensis), SEB (staphylococcal enterotoxin B), ricin (Ricinus communis), botulism (botulinum toxin A), and others - testing for multiple agents simultaneously is key to an early warning system’s reliability.  xMAP technology allows simultaneous detection of bacterial, viral and toxin agents, in a highly flexible, high-throughput system that incorporates a number of internal controls for the highest quality assurance.
