MAGPIX® at Work

MAGPIX, the latest xMAP® instrument from Luminex, is a perfect solution for a variety of applications. Since its launch in July of 2010, MAGPIX has proved to be ideally suited to address the needs of researchers across the globe. Below is a sampling of some of the work that has been done on this powerful little instrument.

Overcoming the Cost and Performance Limitations of ELISA with xMAP Technology

download For decades, ELISA has been the primary method for immunodetection of analytes in biological samples for both life science research and clinical diagnostics fields. This white paper illustrates how xMAP technology offers the benefits of ELISA, but also enables the added value of higher throughput, increased flexibility, reduced sample volume, and low cost with the same workflow as ELISA.

MAGPIX Provides Equivalent Performance to the Luminex 100/200™ in an HPV Vaccination Trial

download Genital infection with human papillomavirus (HPV) is one of the most common sexually transmitted diseases, and persistent infection can lead to cervical cancer in women. HPV serology is complex, because there are over 100 known papillomavirus types, and infection and disease lead to distinct type-specific antibody responses. This white paper describes how MAGPIX and xMAP technology was used for the simultaneous detection of multiple antibodies against in situ affinity–purified recombinant HPV proteins.

Comparison of Luminex 200 to MAGPIX using the Poultry Serology Assay

download In 2010, Luminex developed a set of multiplex poultry serology reagents to aid in the measurement of antibody titers in production chickens. Both animal welfare and live production groups rely on using similar tests to monitor immune response in vaccinated production flocks over their lifetimes, to ensure the health of their livestock. This white paper compares the performance of the Luminex 200 and MAGPIX instruments in this veterinary application.

Equivalent Analytical Performance Between the New MAGPIX System and the Luminex 100/200 System

download One of the most widely used applications of xMAP Technology is multiplexed immunoassays. In this study, Radix BioSolutions (Georgetown, TX) performs a comparison of the Luminex 100/200 and MAGPIX systems, using the Bio-Plex Pro™ (Bio-Rad) and MILLIPLEX® MAG (Millipore) Cytokine/Chemokine Panels.
