Cystic Fibrosis

Description
Cystic Fibrosis affects approximately 30,000 adults and children in North America. The American College of Medical Genetics (ACMG) recommends that individuals be tested for 23 different mutations in the Cystic Fibrosis gene. Conducting tests for these mutations in a single-tube assay format is a tedious, time-consuming job.  xMAP® Technology allows Luminex to convert the current single-tube tests to a ‘liquid bead array’ which will provide results for all 23 mutations quickly and accurately, allowing clinical laboratories to keep up with the ever increasing demand for this test.
